Responsibilities

The Monitor Tech performs indirect care in the department, monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors, facilitates communication, transcribes physician orders, verifies lab and radiology tests, prepares and maintains ICU records, orders supplies, and assists nursing staff with indirect patient care as long as it does not distract from primary responsibilities. ICU-only: May provide direct patient care under RN supervision if certified as a CNA and competent in CNA duties, with duties being relieved during monitor activities.

*1 Night per week*

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or related experience.
  • Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate and BLS (AHA) certificate, maintained current.
  • Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician preferred.
