Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital, part of Piedmont Healthcare, is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to provide continuous ECG monitoring, interpret EKG strips, and identify cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias to support patient safety.

No prior experience is required; 1 year of monitor technician experience is preferred. Education includes a HS Diploma or GED, with licensure/certifications encouraged as listed in the qualifications. You will maintain equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; 1 year monitor technician experience preferred.
• Licensure/certifications encouraged: PHC telemetry competency (within 30 days) with CCMTT or CRAT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous ECG monitoring by assessing EKG strips and interpreting cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
• Troubleshoot monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and implement solutions; report malfunctions promptly.
• Maintain inventories, supplies, hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition.

Responsibilities

Possesses knowledge and ability to provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias interpretation including: measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. Possesses troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identifies probable causes, and seeks solutions to correct the problem. Responsible for maintaining inventories, supplies, hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition and responsible for appropriately reporting malfunctions promptly as applicable.
