Job Overview:

The Central Monitor Tech is responsible for identifying cardiac rhythms and notifying the nurse of changes in rhythm.

General Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for watching a total of 41 rhythm channels in a central area.
  • As directed, will assume responsibility for facilitating nursing unit operations under the direction of the RN.
  • These duties include clerical and specific patient care activities.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
  • Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school education or GED equivalent. Completion of an approved nursing assistant or unit secretary course; or currently attending an approved Nursing program (RN, LPN).
  • Previous experience as Unit Secretary preferred
  • Rhythm Identification Course within 90 days of hire.
  • Strip Identification Test within 30 days of hire
  • BLS.
