Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, FL is seeking a Part Time Monitor Technician to support telemetry monitoring and patient safety. You will observe heart rhythm patterns, respond to alarms, and communicate variances to the nursing team.

Required education includes a high school diploma and Rhythm Recognition or EMT/Paramedic training; current BLS certification is required. Prior Monitor Technician experience is preferred, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Position Summary

A Monitor Technician is responsible for monitoring the heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances using telemetry equipment. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances. Observes cardiac monitor and listens for alarms to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm. Informs Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Registered Nurse of variances to initiate examination of patient.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Minimum

High School Diploma or Equivalent; and
Evidence of the successful completion of a Rhythm Recognition course or evidence of the successful completion of an EMT or Paramedic training recognized by the
State of Florida for licensure as an EMT or Paramedic.

Preferred

In addition to the above, completion of a 12 – lead EKG course is desirable.

EXPERIENCE

Previous Monitor Technician experience preferred.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION

Current BLS Card approved by the American Heart Association (AHA)

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize efficiently. Must be able to handle a multi-task environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
