University of Florida Health seeks a monitor support tech, responsible for monitoring patients' heart rhythms, assisting in patient mobility, and managing unit desk support. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, with a background in medical terminology preferred.
The monitor support tech functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse serving the unit in distinct roles according to assignment. In a priority role, the monitor support tech is responsible for monitoring and interpreting patients' heart rhythms and rate by utilizing telemetry recordings. The monitor support tech may also function as a support tech. These responsibilities include serving as a mobility assistant and working with the registered nurse to optimize patient mobility using specialized patient lifting equipment. Additionally, the monitor support tech may serve as the unit desk support managing the nurse call system needs, answering telephones, stocking supplies/equipment, filing, and ensuring a clean and uncluttered environment of care. The monitor support tech provides nursing support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
