Orting School District is seeking a dedicated assistant to support the principal in maintaining a safe, well-monitored environment for all students. The role emphasizes managing the site, assisting with first aid, and addressing student behavior under guidance from the principal.
Responsibilities include enforcing site rules, reporting incidents, supporting staff, and promoting positive interactions. This position requires 180 days, a 6-hour day, and a schedule aligned with the school calendar.

This is not an instructional position subject to meeting the state minimum employment requirements.
Job duties involve sitting, walking, standing, stooping, crouching and climbing. May be exposed to high noise levels. May be required to deal with distraught students. Work is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Building Principal
Work Year: 180 days, regular school year (plus paid holidays that fall within the work year calendar)
Hours: 6.0 hours per day
Schedule: Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:35 am - 3:45 pm (hours subject to change based on student/operational need)
Salary: 2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule A
$22.90 - $25.78 per hour DOE
Performance is evaluated by the building principal with input from other staff as appropriate

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours an employee is anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Other benefits include VEBA, which is a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and serves as a way to contribute dollars on a pre-tax basis for out of pocket benefits costs, whether it be for medical, dental or vision premiums, or any other out of pocket medical expenses. This benefit is available, based on the outcome of annual voting of employees by group.
