Job Summary

The Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful, and dignified environment for both participants and staff. This fast‑paced, client‑facing role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to working with individuals impacted by homelessness, mental illness, substance use, and trauma.

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce Joyous Ventures’ rules and regulations consistently
• Uphold policies around alcohol/drug use, harassment, and participant conduct
• Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents (e.g., theft, accidents, medical needs)
• Treat all participants with dignity, fairness, and respect
• De‑escalate conflicts with support from the Program Manager and Clinical Social Worker
• Support conflict prevention and risk‑reduction strategies
• Manage emergency situations, including contacting law enforcement when necessary
• Participate in trainings on trauma‑informed care, racial and gender sensitivity, homelessness, and safeguarding
• Monitor security cameras to ensure ongoing safety
• Complete accurate, timely incident reports
• Change locks and manage key systems as needed

Skills & Qualifications
