Responsibilities

• Specializes in production of screening and diagnostic mammograms.
• Responsible for the initial and ongoing success of the mammography service.
• Assist practice to ensure annual screening mammograms for eligible patients.
• Prepare patients for the mammographic procedure.
• Explain procedures to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
• Position mammographic equipment and adjust exposure factors.
• Practice radiation protection techniques and ensure safety standards.
• Examine digital images for quality.
• Ensure equipment is in proper working order and perform QA testing.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and complete required data entry.
• Prepare reports and data per MQSA and State requirements.
