Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. at the Eighty Four Plant seeks an Atomizing Melter to support the Operations department with daily tactical tasks and safe execution of duties aimed at achieving production goals.

You will collaborate with operators, maintenance, and management to identify root causes, maintain quality, train others, and help update standard operating procedures while upholding safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• Willingness to work any shift.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties safely following company and site safety rules.
• Charges raw material into furnaces for efficient and continuous melting.
• Maintains required conditions for pouring molten metal into atomizing chamber.
• Pours molten metal into atomizing chamber.
• Evaluates refractory components to prevent failure during melting.
• Tears down and relines refractory components as needed.
• Maintains melting and atomizing records.
• Changes plenums and related assemblies.
• Records pour temperature, atomization pressure and water flow and downtime.
• Performs housekeeping and trains others in safety and productivity.
• Helps create and update SOPs and other paperwork.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
