Job summary

Tempus seeks a Molecular Technologist in Minneapolis to join pharmacogenomics testing operations. You will perform sample accessioning, DNA extraction, real-time PCR, data analysis, and high-complexity clinical molecular testing in a CAP/CLIA-certified environment. The role supports assay development, QA/QC, and weekend coverage as needed.

Strong attention to detail, collaborative teamwork, and effective communication are essential to advance precision medicine and patient care.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field.
• Educational background totaling at least 60 semester hours, including 24 hours in medical laboratory technology or 24 hours in science with chemistry/biology components.
• Minimum of 1–2+ years of post-baccalaureate clinical experience in a high-complexity CAP/CLIA lab.
• At least 6–12 months hands-on experience in molecular techniques including nucleic acid extraction.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample accessioning, DNA extraction, PCR testing, and data review according to SOPs.
• Conduct high-complexity clinical molecular testing in a regulated environment.
• Perform quality control and quality assurance activities and maintain records.
• Support laboratory development, assay development, and validation activities.
• Develop technical and scientific content for procedures, policies, and publications.
• Collaborate with staff and other departments to support operational excellence.
• Maintain flexibility to cover weekend shifts.
