Job summary

Tempus in Atlanta seeks a Molecular Technologist to join a cutting-edge clinical laboratory. You will perform complex molecular procedures with high accuracy, ensure rapid turnaround, and maintain QC in a CAP/CLIA high‑complexity environment.

Responsibilities include qPCR, next‑generation sequencing, nucleic acid extraction, DNA/RNA quantification and genotyping, plus LIMS data entry and routine troubleshooting of SOPs. Strong collaboration and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• M.S. or B.S. in medical technology or related field with clinical lab experience in molecular biology.
• Strong communication, teamwork and detail orientation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cutting-edge clinical laboratory to provide high-quality molecular test data with rapid turnaround times.
• Perform complex molecular-based procedures with a high degree of quality and in accordance with established protocols.
• Identify deviations from SOPs and apply routine fixes; troubleshoot under direction and authorization.
• Perform molecular techniques such as qPCR, NGS, nucleic acid extraction, DNA/RNA quantification and genotyping.
• Conduct quality control, calibration, maintenance and proficiency testing as per CAP/CLIA NYSDOH rules.
• Enter clinical patient data into the LIMS and maintain competency per regulatory guidelines.
