Job summary

The Division of Pathology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) seeks a full-time Assistant Director of the Molecular and Genomic Pathology Services Laboratory to lead clinical molecular pathology services, including high-throughput technologies such as next generation sequencing, real-time PCR, and droplet digital PCR.

The MGPS lab develops and validates tests and serves as a reference for regional pediatric centers.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD with ABP board certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP).
• Interest in molecular pathology of hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and infectious diseases.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and sign-out clinical oncology cases.
• Oversee adherence to laboratory procedures and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Provide consultation to healthcare professionals regarding test utilization and interpretation.
• Develop and validate new tests.
• Oversee regulatory compliance.
• Review laboratory data and reports.
• Contribute to teaching and mentoring of fellows.
