Job summary

NeoGenomics Laboratories is seeking a Molecular Laboratory Technologist to perform complex molecular clinical tests, handle diverse specimens, and maintain SOP compliance in a fast-paced, onsite laboratory. The position requires adapting to a Tuesday-Saturday 3:00pm–11:30pm shift (initially 12:00pm–8:30pm).

You will contribute to patient care by delivering accurate results, mentoring teammates, and supporting CAP/CLIA requirements, with a focus on quality control, training, and workflow

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related life science.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience with high-complexity molecular testing.
• Strong understanding of general laboratory techniques and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of test results; mentors on time management and prioritization.
• Determines specimen acceptability; prepares specimens for testing and resolves issues.
• Performs newly introduced molecular tests once trained and authorized.
• Ensures documentation is complete and identifies SOP gaps for escalation.
• Performs quality control and investigates QC failures; conducts initial root cause analysis.
• Demonstrates proficiency in molecular testing areas and troubleshoots instruments.
• Applies CAP/CLIA molecular requirements and supports audits.
• Optimizes batching, assay setup, and workflow efficiency.
• Serves as molecular trainer and adjusts training pace based on trainee competency.
