Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care in Alsip, IL is seeking a Lab Technician to perform routine and complex molecular testing, including DNA/RNA extraction and PCR, under CLIA guidelines. You will review results, maintain records, and support development of new procedures.

The role requires 1–2 years molecular lab experience, a degree in medical lab science or related field, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. Competitive starting pay and great team environment.

Qualifications

• Doctoral, master’s, or bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or Physics.
• Associate’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical lab technology.
• Educational equivalent to Associate’s degree with at least: 60 semester hours including 24 semester hours of medical lab technology; OR 60 semester hours including 24 hours of science that includes 6 hours chemistry, 6 hours biology, and 12 hours chemistry, biology, medical technology in any combination; AND 3 months training in each specialty in which high complexity testing is performed.

Responsibilities

• Independently and accurately perform routine and complex molecular testing, including DNA/RNA extraction and PCR.
• Review preliminary and final test results.
• Assist in resolution of technical problems in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
• Record, compile and maintain records according to laboratory policies to ensure state and federal regulations are upheld for all reagents, procedures, and equipment used in the testing process.
• Assist in the development, evaluation, and implementation of new procedures and protocols.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Coordinate daily communications of laboratory with physicians and other parties.
• Participate in educational activities.
• Perform other related work as required
