Job summary

Tempus AI, Inc. is seeking a specialist to provide daily oversight of a high‑throughput molecular workflow, ensuring rapid, high‑quality next‑generation sequencing data.

You will monitor QC, perform quality reviews, and supervise staff to maintain CLIA/CAP/NYSDOH compliance. You will also mentor technologists, schedule training, and leverage automation and robotics to streamline the sequencing pipeline while maintaining safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD in physical, chemical, or biological science with clinical lab experience or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills required
• Ability to delegate tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work with others to plan and carry out scientific programs
• Self-driven, interdisciplinary collaboration, minimal direction
• Strong desire to build products that will save lives and change cancer care
• Impeccable attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight of a molecular workflow to deliver high-quality sequencing data
• Monitor laboratory processes to maintain analytic performance and quality control
• Ensure remedial actions when test systems deviate from specs
• Perform quality review for samples from extraction to sequencing
• Maintain CLIA/CAP/NYSDOH compliance
• Schedule training and competency assessments for personnel
• Mentor clinical molecular technologists and extraction technologists
• Maintain safety and follow all safety protocols
• Use automation and robotics to standardize the discovery pipeline
• Schedule onboarding and training for new hires
