Job summary

University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA invites applications for a Research Specialist B to perform a variety of molecular biology experiments and assist the PI with wet-lab setup and lab logistics. The role is contingent on grant funding and requires a Bachelor of Science with 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct molecular cloning, cell culture, and genome editing and genome regulation experiments in immortalized cells and primary cells.
• Conduct in vitro experiments including flow cytometry, qPCR, ELISA.
• Perform in vivo experiments in mouse models, including handling, injections, surgeries, and behavioral or physiological assessments.
• Maintaining laboratory stocks, ordering reagents, and ensuring compliance with institutional biosafety and animal care protocols.
• Assisting in the preparation of scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentations.
