Job summary

UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Research Technician for a time-limited 21-month appointment. Responsibilities include training others, maintaining reagents and equipment, and conducting DNA/RNA analyses, cell culture, and transfection.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated competencies to perform molecular biology experiments.
• Experience with chromatin isolation, DNA cloning, and nucleic acid handling preferred.
• Proficiency with lab data management and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform experiments on a new project in Pattenden lab.
• Train lab members and collaborators on lab equipment.
• Maintain inventory and upkeep of reagents and equipment.
• Perform DNA plasmid generation, cell transfection, and nucleic acid analyses.
• Operate equipment including acoustic sonication and flow cytometry.
• Prepare cultured human cells and tissue for acoustic sonication studies.
• Utilize MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint for data entry and reporting.
