Job summary

The Legacy Companies in Avondale, PA is seeking a Molding Technician for the third shift to startup, set up, operate and adjust injection molding equipment to produce parts meeting quality standards.

You will monitor processing, prepare materials, troubleshoot issues, train operators, and coordinate daily molding activities as shift lead when needed, while maintaining a safe, organized work area and communicating with management during handoffs.

Qualifications

• Experience with injection molding equipment and related processes.
• Ability to identify and address quality issues in molding.
• Wamiliarity with safety procedures and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Start up, set up, operate, and shut down injection molding machines per procedures.
• Set up and adjust picker and servo robots and related equipment.
• Monitor and adjust process settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Identify and troubleshoot defects and equipment issues; escalate as needed.
• Load, mix, and prepare resins per specifications; prevent contamination.
• Perform mold cleaning and lubrication; report wear or maintenance needs.
• Inspect parts against quality requirements and document results.
• Record production metrics and downtime accurately.
• Train operators on safe operation and inspections.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Communicate status and concerns during shift handoffs.

Position Overview:

The Molding Technician supports injection molding operations at The Legacy Companies in Avondale, PA. This position starts up, sets up, operates, and adjusts molding equipment to produce parts that meet quality and production requirements. The technician monitors processing conditions, prepares materials, troubleshoots operating issues, and trains operators while maintaining a safe and organized work area. When assigned shift leader responsibilities, the technician also coordinates daily molding activities and communicates shift performance and concerns to management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Start up, set up, operate, and shut down injection molding machines in accordance with approved procedures and production requirements.
• Set up and adjust picker and servo robots and related auxiliary equipment within training and authorization limits.
• Monitor and adjust molding process settings within approved parameters to maintain consistent part quality and efficient operation.

• Load, mix, and prepare resins for production according to material specifications and handling procedures; maintain material identification and prevent contamination.
• Perform scheduled in-press mold cleaning and lubrication using approved procedures; report tooling wear, damage, or maintenance needs.
• Inspect molded parts against established quality requirements, document results, and identify and segregate nonconforming product.
• Record production quantities, scrap, downtime, process changes, and other required information accurately.
• Train operators on safe machine operation, part inspection, material handling, and established work instructions.
• Follow safety procedures, machine guarding requirements, and applicable lockout/tagout procedures; use required personal protective equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and communicate equipment status, quality issues, material needs, and unfinished work during shift handoffs.
