Job summary

Magna Exteriors is seeking a skilled molding technician to join our Toledo, OH facility. The role focuses on supporting the molding department, initiating machine processes, and ensuring efficient production with plastics and robotics expertise.

Ideal candidates bring at least three years of molding experience, automation familiarity, and the ability to troubleshoot presses and robots. This is a regular/ permanent, on-site position with a second shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support processes and activities in the molding department.
• Initiate machine processes, adjust within tolerances, and improve efficiencies.
• Setup tools and auxiliary equipment; ensure proper connections.
• Load material into the slitter machine and troubleshoot presses/robots.
• Monitor and resolve process problems; assist with new tools/materials for trials.
• Conform to continuous process improvement in molding.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support processes and other activities consistent with molding department’s expectations and goals.
• Initiate machine processes, make adjustments within process tolerances and recommend any changes for improved efficiencies.
• Responsible for all tool changes and setup of auxiliary equipment.
• Responsible for making the proper connections to the tools (water, hydraulic, vacuum and electrical).
• Assist with setting up and loading material into the slitter machine.
• Must be able to troubleshoot the injection presses and robots.
• Must assist with troubleshooting assembly equipment.
• Continually monitor all processes related to injection molding.
• Analyze and resolve any process problems. Resolve any product non-conformity issues that may arise.
• Assist in the set-up and start-up of new tools and materials for trial.
• Conform to the implementation of continuous process improvement in the molding department.
• Must obtain and maintain a forklift certification.
• Second shift schedule: 2PM - 1030PM

Who we are looking for:
