Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school, or 3–6 months of related experience.

• Ability to read safety rules, instructions, and procedures; write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily PM checklists on assigned machines.
• Set up molding processes, heater boxes, cooling, valve gates, and robotics for optimal efficiency.
• Maintain quality parts by adjusting machine controls.
• Run samples of color, material, or process as required.
• Monitor machine parameters using the Mattec system for process compliance.
• Enter production data, fill charts and generate checklists.
• Perform Molding Associate duties during first article inspection.
• Use measuring instruments like micrometers and gauges.
• Move materials and molds with a forklift as needed.

SUMMARY:The Molding Process Technician tends to several injection molding machines and industrial robots to mold plastic components to specifications. This position requires the ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations while making major decisions involving the running or stopping of molds and machines. This position also supports the training of new Molding Process Technician Trainees in injection molding processing as well as assisting in the development of the trainees understanding of internal processes and procedures.SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL:All employees are expected to act in a safe manner at all times and ensure that those around them do not put themselves or others at risk.
