Job summary

American Excelsior Company in Sheboygan, WI is seeking a Molding Painter for a 2nd shift (3pm–1am, Mon–Thu). You will apply paints to molded foam parts, prep surfaces, and ensure quality and safety standards are met before assembly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical painting/manufacturing training preferred.
  • Prior painting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of paint types, application techniques and drying times.
  • Understanding of molding processes and material handling.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work documents.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Apply paint, primers and coatings to molded parts per specifications.
  • Prepare surfaces and ensure proper paint adhesion.
  • Coordinate with molding technicians to ensure correct part sequence for painting.
  • Inspect finished parts for defects and report issues.
  • Operate painting equipment safely and efficiently; follow safety regulations.

Molding Painter

Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 / hour

Description

The Molding Painter will be familiar with a manufacturing environment and is responsible for protective and decorative finishes to molded urethane foam products. This role combines manual painting skills with an understanding of manufacturing (specifically foam) processes, ensuring that molded components meet quality, safety and aesthetic standards before moving to assembly or packaging.

This is a 2nd shift position, working 3pm to 1am, Monday thru Thursday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply paint, primers and coatings to molded parts according to specifications, ensuring even coverage, correct color and adherence to quality standards
  • Clean, prep and prime surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion
  • Work alongside molding technicians and operators to ensure parts are ready for painting in the correct sequence
  • Inspect finished parts for defects or inconsistencies and report issues to management
  • Operate spray guns, air compressors and other painting equipment safety and efficiently
  • Follow OSHA, plant safety, and environmental regulations when handling chemicals
  • Maintain records of work performed, materials used and any quality deviations
  • Assist in the process improvement activities and follow plant guidelines
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in painting, manufacturing or related field preferred
  • Prior experience in painting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of paint types, application techniques and drying times
  • Understanding of molding processes and material handling
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work documents
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and follow safety protocols
Compensation and Benefits
