Silgan Dispensing is seeking a Mold Setter Technician to keep our production lines running smoothly. This role involves setting up molds, optimizing production runs, and performing quality checks on each machine.

You will document production data, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventative maintenance. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, strong mechanical aptitude, and mold technical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Min of high school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school certificate is a plus but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and mold experience are essential.
• Knowledge of resins and preventative maintenance is expected.
• 3–5 years direct hands-on work in molding environments.
• Ability to prioritize work and communicate clearly.

Responsabilités

• Maintaining quality standards and efficiency on production lines.
• Setting up, optimizing, and cleaning molds and machines.
• Responding to machine stoppages and correcting issues.
• Documenting production processes and QA data.
• Troubleshooting quality, process, machine, and mold failures.
• Performing preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.

About this Role

The Mold Setter Technician position is an important role on the Silgan Dispensing team and is a great opportunity for those looking to advance their skills. Our plant help produce thousands of our dispensing products each day. So, it's important to keep it running efficiently and continuously. The Mold Setter Technician keeps our equipment operational by setting up, optimizing production runs and performing quality checks as needed for each machine. Here's a list of duties that our Mold Setter Technician performs on a typical day:

• Maintaining quality standards and efficient.


• Performing duties including the setup, optimizing, cleaning, and preventative maintenance of molds and machines in operation.


• Responding to and correcting injection molding machines which have stopped producing


• Ability to break problems down to recognize cause and effect are essential to this position


• Documenting production process and related quality assurance data


• Troubleshooting and correcting quality, process, machine, and mold failures


• Performing troubleshooting of support equipment


• Other duties as assigned

Qualified Candidates must have:

• Knowledge of polypropylene, polyethylene and acetyl resins


• Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance programs


• 3-5 years direct hands-on work experience is essential


• Ability to prioritize work is essential


• Good verbal & written communication skills


• Good time management and organizational skills

• Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on needs.


• Ability to work independently and be proactive.


• Ability to analyze, interpret and report data.

Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):

• Ability to lift and/or move 35 lbs.


• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor.


• Physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
