Job summary

Amcor is seeking an Automation Technician in Kansas to maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment and control systems. You will work with robots, sensors, conveyors, and related controls, with minimal supervision and opportunities for on‑the‑job training.

Responsibilities include performing scheduled maintenance, assisting across departments with troubleshooting, and keeping work areas tidy while demonstrating safety and a proactive approach to preventing downtime. OSHA standards apply.

Qualifications

• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Have mechanical and electrical/controls aptitude.
• Accept responsibility for work performed.
• Dependable and motivated with a good work history.
• Able to participate in an apprenticeship or technical training program.
• Able to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and automation diagrams.
• Good reading comprehension and math skills.

This role requires a hands‑on problem solver who can work independently, respond quickly to equipment issues, and continuously develop their skills in the automation and controls field.

Physical Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds overhead.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to waist.
• Must be able to work around grease, oils and solvents without adverse reaction.
• Ability to climb up and down ladders.
• Must be able to stand, walk bend or stoop through an entire shift.
• Good manual dexterity of arms and fingers.
• Must have 20/20 vision with correction and must be able to differentiate color.

Shift and Pay

• 12 hour shifts: 7pm to 7am
• Starting pay: $29.75/hour plus $1.00 shift differential while working on nights
