Job summary

Magna Exteriors in an in-person setting seeks a hands-on Mold Technician for the night shift. You will modify, repair, and fabricate tooling while documenting work in PMC and supporting molding operations.

You will read drawings, interpret tooling specs, and apply hands-on mold skills to meet stringent specifications. A high school diploma or GED with 6 years of related experience or an apprenticeship is required; injection molding experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to use required hand tools and interpret tooling designs/specs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold modifications, engineering changes, and repairs within established timeframes.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed using the PMC system and work orders.
• Support the Molding Department by troubleshooting mold-related operational issues.
• Demonstrate proficiency in hand tools and ensure tooling is available before work.
• Read and interpret tool designs and engineering drawings.
• Fabricate tooling and related equipment as needed.
• Apply mold spotting, parting line repair, and hand-working skills.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform mold modifications, engineering changes, and repairs within established timeframes.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed using the PMC system and established work order procedures.
• Support the Molding Department by troubleshooting mold-related operational issues.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using the hand tools required for mold maintenance and repair, and ensure the necessary tools and equipment are available before beginning work.
• Understand mold specifications and verify that tooling meets the required specifications.
• Read and interpret tool designs and engineering drawings.
• Fabricate tooling and related equipment as needed.
• Apply mold spotting, parting line repair, and hand-working skills.

What We're Looking For

We're searching for someone who is:

• High school diploma or GED, with a minimum of six years of directly related experience, or successful completion of an apprenticeship program.
• Ability to use required hand tools and interpret tooling designs and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Automotive manufacturing experience is a bonus!

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field.
• At least two years of experience in injection molding or a related production environment.
• CNC machining experience.
• Welding experience.
• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Basic computer skills.
