Job summary

Malibu Boats is seeking a Mold Maintenance Technician in our Mold Preparation department. You will maintain and repair tooling, process new tooling, and refurbish deck and hull components per schedule.

You will strip, buff, grind, sand, and finish gelcoat using appropriate tools and apply gelcoat with a paint gun while adhering to safety procedures. You will read drawings, identify mold surface defects, and complete production documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications; ability to write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair tooling; process new tooling per procedures and schedules.
• Maintain deck, hull, and tooling via minor or major refurbish per rotation.
• Use air-powered and hand tools to strip, buff, grind, sand, and finish tooling.
• Apply tooling gelcoat with a paint gun and use release agents safely.
• Identify defects in mold surfaces by sight and touch; document parts for production.
• Operate high-speed pneumatic tools safely; read and follow drawings.
• Work in a fast-paced, noisy environment with required PPE; practice good housekeeping.
