Job summary

M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. The Mold Shop PM Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and repair of precision molds used in plastic injection molding operations.

Schedule: 3rd Shift, 11:00PM-7:00AM at our Lordstown, OH facility. The role disassembles/assembles molds, identifies wear or damaged components, maintains logs, and supports mold changeovers while upholding safety, GMP guidelines, and 5S

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with molds, tooling, preventative maintenance, or mechanical repair preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 45–50 pounds repetitively.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on injection molds in accordance with established maintenance schedules and procedures
• Disassembles and assembles molds for cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and repair
• Inspects and cleans molds to ensure proper working condition
• Lubricates mold and die components and inspects components for wear, damage, or potential issues
• Performs minor repairs and assists with the replacement of damaged or worn mold components as needed
• Identifies mold issues and reports concerns requiring additional repair or technical support
• Maintains accurate preventative maintenance logs and documentation
• Assists with mold changeovers and production setup as needed
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles
• Perform other duties as assigned

The Mold Shop PM Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and repair of precision molds used in plastic injection molding operations. This role disassembles and assembles molds, identifies wear or damaged components, performs routine maintenance and minor repairs, and helps ensure molds remain in proper working condition to support reliable production.

Schedule: 3rd Shift, 11:00PM-7:00AM

Key Responsibilities

• Disassembles and assembles molds for cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and repair

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to work with precision components
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow preventative maintenance procedures and work instructions
• Comprehensive understanding of food safety, GMP, PRP, HACCP, and food-contact materials as they relate to food-safe packaging in applicable facilities

Education

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

Experience

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Previous experience with molds, tooling, preventative maintenance, or mechanical repair preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 45–50 pounds repetitively
• Ability to maintain steady hand coordination while performing detailed work
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may be hot or cold
• Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
