Job summary

M&M Industries, Inc. in Ohio is seeking a Maintenance Technician to inspect and maintain plastic injection machines, equipment, and infrastructure. You will ensure safety, equipment and facility standards are met and participate in preventive maintenance.

We offer 12-hour shifts with competitive hourly pay up to $41.00 per hour, based on experience. Placement is determined by experience, knowledge and demonstrated skills, with emphasis on safety and quality in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• IML set-up and troubleshooting experience.
• Heat transfer machine set-up and troubleshooting knowledge.
• Understanding of machines and tools, their uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic devices.
• Awareness of food safety, GMP, HACCP in food packaging environments.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
• Logs usage, replacements, and maintenance to maximize function.
• Diagnoses, analyzes, and repairs electro-mechanical equipment with meters and gauges.
• Installs, repairs, or replaces equipment using electrical/mechanical know-how.
• Identifies root causes of downtime and scrap; suggests improvements.
• Prepares work areas and ensures tools are ready and in order.
• Troubleshoots equipment issues and practices proactive maintenance.
• Performs preventative maintenance and documents timely.
• Communicates safety, quality, and production concerns to leaders.
• Performs daily PM on production equipment.
• Maintains 5S clean and organized workspace.
• Flags equipment replacements to supervisor and supports the team.

The Maintenance Technician inspects and maintains the condition of all plastic injection machines, associated equipment, and infrastructure. Additional responsibilities include ensuring that all safety, equipment and facility specifications and standards are in technical compliance.

Schedules Available

• 12-hour Shifts, 6:45AM-7:00PM OR 6:45PM-7:00AM

Earn Up to $41.00 per Hour:

• Technician I – $31.37/hr
• Technician II – $34.22/hr
• Technician III – $36.00/hr
• Technician IV – $41.00/hr

Placement is based on experience, technical knowledge, and demonstrated skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Follows safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Logs equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality.
• Diagnoses, analyzes, and repairs electro-mechanical and instrumentation equipment using meters, gauges, and other testing methods.
• Applies knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic devices and principles to install, repair, and/or replace defective equipment.
• Identifies root causes of downtime, poor production performance, non-conforming product, and scrap.
• Suggests changes to standard maintenance procedures by verifying applicability.
• Prepares work areas to ensure tools needed are available and in working order.
• Troubleshoots and resolves equipment problems while demonstrating proactive maintenance behaviors and best-practices.
• Performs required preventative maintenance job assignments and completes documentation in a timely manner.
• Communicates safety, quality, and production concerns to team leaders and supervisors.
• Performs daily preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment in accordance with the 5S principles.
• Identifies when equipment needs to be replaced and informs supervisor.
• Works with other team members to foster a collaborative work environment.

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

• Able to perform IML set-up and troubleshooting
• Basic knowledge of Heat Transfer Machine(s) set-up and troubleshooting
• Understanding of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance
• Understanding of how electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic devices work
• Comprehensive understanding of Food safety, GMP, PRP, HACCP, awareness of food contact materials, as it relates to food safety packaging (in applicable facilities)

Education

• High school diploma or G.E.D. (required)

Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience related to Industrial Maintenance (required)
• Less than 1 year of experience related to plastics set-up (preferred)

Physical Job Requirements

• Able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds frequently.
• Able to assist lifting more than 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching, and climbing ladders.
• All work is performed in a manufacturing environment which may be hot/cold and requires the use of PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection where necessary, etc.)
