Job summary
Comar is seeking experienced Set-Up Mechanics to support injection molding and extrusion blow molding operations in a modern plastics environment. You will perform mold changes, set up machines, and configure auxiliary equipment to ensure smooth startup and production runs.
Ideal candidates have 3+ years of plastics setup experience, knowledge of injection molding, and strong troubleshooting skills, with forklift/crane experience preferred and opportunities for advancement into Process
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of setup experience in plastics manufacturing
- Experience with injection molding equipment and mold changes
- Knowledge of plastic resins, molds, tooling, and machine operation
- Forklift and crane experience preferred
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
Responsibilities
- Remove and install molds and tooling
- Perform mold and machine setups
- Connect and configure auxiliary equipment
- Prepare material handling and downstream equipment
- Set machine recipes and initial process parameters
- Support Process Technicians during startups and first article approval
- Troubleshoot tooling and setup-related issues
- Perform basic preventative maintenance activities
- Support automation, robotics, and auxiliary equipment changes
