Job summary

Pelican Products in Torrance, CA is seeking a Mold Setter I to support our plastic injection molding operations. You will perform mold changeovers, start machines, conduct preventive maintenance, and ensure tooling readiness to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of mold changeover or setup experience, familiarity with injection molding equipment, and the ability to read setup sheets, blueprints, and safety docs.

Qualifications

• 1 year of mold changeovers or setup experience.
• Experience with plastic injection molding equipment.
• Ability to read setup sheets, work instructions, blueprints, and safety documentation.
• Mechanical aptitude with hand tools and maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold changeovers according to production schedules, SOPs, and safety requirements.
• Prepare, install, remove, stage, and store molds, tooling, and related components for production.
• Perform Level 1-A preventive maintenance including mold cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and documentation.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, QMC systems, and other mold handling equipment.
• Verify mold setup, cooling systems, auxiliary equipment, and machine readiness before releasing equipment to production.
• Perform machine startups and inspect first-piece production; communicate tooling, quality, or equipment concerns.
