Job summary

Century Mold Co. in Shelbyville, TN is seeking a Mold Repair Tech for the B shift to support our tooling and mold maintenance operations.

You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair tooling, analyze drawings, and keep presses running while maintaining high-quality standards. We expect 4–10 years of related experience or Journeyman/Master craftsman certification, proficiency with MS Office, and the ability to work with apprentices and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing

  • Four to ten years of related experience and/or training with Journeyman or Master craftsman certification.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new software as needed.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with customers, clients, co-workers, supervisors, managers, and all other employees.
  • Adhere to all quality system procedures and requirements related to the position.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and company policies.
  • Attendance/punctuality is consistently at work and on time.
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of mold and tool making.
  • Complete all quality checks and paperwork associated with job tasks.
  • Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair faulty or damaged tooling.
  • Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine tool specifications and tolerances.
  • Keep presses operational.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on molds.
  • Restore damaged surfaces and re-machines to specifications.
  • Reassemble, test, and adjust tooling.
  • Perform slide changes.
  • Check water flow on higher volume tooling.
  • Perform other repairs, corrections, and engineering changes to molds as requested by Production Tooling Manager.
  • Teach and guide apprentices through all facets of mold making.
