Job summary

HellermannTyton North America in Milwaukee is looking for a Mold Maintenance Technician. Under the supervision of the Mold Maintenance Supervisor, you will evaluate, maintain, and repair molds while ensuring compliance with quality and environmental standards. Responsibilities include cleaning molds, documenting maintenance, and making necessary repairs. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, mechanical aptitude, and at least one year of experience in a related field. Availability for overtime and forklift certification preferred.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Mold Maintenance Supervisor, the Mold Maintenance Techs are responsible for evaluating, maintaining and repairing molds, including completing all necessary mold conversions. This role supports HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for cleaning all injection molding tools at the end of each production run.
• Completely field strip mold according to PM schedule.
• Make repairs or replace components as needed, notifying management of repairs or replacements beyond in-house capability.
• Document all work in tooling files and computer databases.
• Test and repair problems related to heaters, manifolds, and torpedoes.

Other Functions

• Maintain work area and clean shop and equipment on a regular basis.
• Keep Mold Maintenance Supervisor posted of any supplies/tools needed.
• Build shipping crates for molds being repaired by outside vendors.
• Keep mold vault organized.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• Keep the ultrasonic tanks clean.
• Use required Personal Protective Equipment; safety shoes must be worn at all times, with additional PPE provided as required.
• All employees entering the manufacturing area must wear designated PPE; wearing PPE is a condition of employment.

Success in this role will require

• Complete cleaning, field stripping, and testing of injection molding tools per schedule.
• Make repairs or replace components as needed.
• Be fork lift certified at HellermannTyton.
• Complete competencies for Mold Maintenance Technician I and Mold Maintenance Technician II.

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Above average mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and tool room equipment (mills, lathes, drill press, surface grinders, saws).
• Aptitude for very close‑tolerance precision work.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a machine shop or mold maintenance department with ability to read blueprints.
• Work independently.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Availability for daily and weekend overtime.
• Experience working with injection molding tools.
• Prior forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to stand/walk for a minimum of 8 hours.
