Summary:
The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining ISO compliant plastic injection molding process standards for both production and development. You will work with all levels of the organization to develop and manage injection molding processes including, mold setting, process development and execution, material handling procedures, troubleshooting, and statistical analysis. Must have leadership skills that are consistent and decisive while maintaining a mentoring/coaching environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a liaison between manufacturing and engineering
- Responsible for training of technical resources
- Use Lean/Six Sigma methodologies for process development and problem solving
- Maintain associated metrics for respective area
- Responsible for optimizing cycle times, reducing scrap, and reducing downtime
- Participate on teams that require technical expertise
- Responsible for creating and maintaining associated department procedures
- Maintain a high level of professionalism
- Monitor processes and ensure accurate execution of defined processes
- Responsible for level of quality produced by the department
- Promote a high level of communication between departments to execute customer orders
- Promote and participate actively in continuous improvement
- Develop growth and development plans for personnel
- Maintain working relationships with other department managers and personnel
- Assess equipment and personnel requirements for department and make/ implement necessary changes
- Perform other tasks as directed by manager
- Overtime is required
- Some travel may be required on occasion

Qualifications:
- Ability to interpret part prints, quality plans, work instructions and apply the knowledge appropriately
- Ability to develop and write work procedures and train personnel
- Proficient in use of Office software including word processing and spreadsheets
- Must possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills to interact within all levels of the organization
- Working knowledge of CAD/Solid works and Mold flow
- Experience with Engineered and High-temp resins
- Demonstrated experience in formalized problem solving
- Ability to program robots and exchange end-of-arm tooling
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001-2015
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical training/experience
- Process Engineering experience of 3-5 years minimum
- Lean/Six Sigma training/certification
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to perform complex applications of percentages and averages and ratios
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to deal with ambiguous situations, make decisions and take charge of production situations with clear and calm demeanor
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Certificate of supervisory training preferred
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training preferred
Physical Demands:
- Extended hours sitting and viewing a computer screen, repetitive hand and wrist movements
- Standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Manufacturing environment with associated noises, smells and temperatures
