Job summary

East Jordan Plastics, Inc. seeks an experienced Injection Molding Process Engineer to support daily production, improve existing processes, and develop proven injection molding processes that enhance efficiency, quality, and machine utilization.

The role is hands-on, collaborative, and highly visible on the production floor. You will establish, control, and improve molding processes, troubleshoot on the floor, and train operators.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the plastic injection molding industry.
• Thin-wall, high-speed injection molding experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, plastics engineering, or related field preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of molding processes, equipment, materials, and mold tooling.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Injection Molding Process Engineer to support daily production, improve existing processes, and develop proven injection molding processes that improve efficiency, quality, and machine utilization. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and highly visible on the production floor.

What You’ll Do

• Establish, control, and improve new and existing injection molding processes.
• Support production teams with process control, troubleshooting, and daily technical problem solving.
• Build effective working relationships across departments to support successful project execution.
• Participate in and lead cross-functional teams focused on process improvement and project advancement.
• Train production personnel on new and revised processes.
• Work closely with tooling design to influence designs that support single-digit cycle times.
• Develop and manage tooling modifications that improve machine utilization, efficiency, and quality.
• Spend up to 80% of time on the production floor identifying issues, correcting problems, improving processes, and maintaining successful programs.
• Process molding tools using theoretical data and adjust processing parameters to achieve optimum cycle times.
• Maintain a positive presence on the production floor that fosters teamwork and continuous improvement.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a pre-employment screening.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking on concrete.
• Must be able safely lift 25-50 pounds at a time
