Job description

What's new with Aptar
We have an exciting position open in Cary, IL: Moldmaker. This position will be based in Cary and will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting injection molds, operates Toolroom machinery, revises and manufactures mold components and has responsibility for product quality and safety.

B shift (Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule)

6:45 am - 7:00 pm

This is how your journey begins

  • Disassemble and reassemble injection molds to meet production and sampling schedules
  • O perates basic Toolroom machinery safely (vertical mill, lathe, surface grinders, overhead crane, Dedtru etc.)
  • Troubleshoots and solves mold problems
  • Reads blueprints to manufacture or modify mold components to print
  • Cleans molds and components
  • Utilizes computer in daily job duties

What you will bring on the journey

Education

  • Must possess high school diploma or GED

Required Skills

  • Five years of experience in tool making or mold repair

Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to communicate and understand relevant information

  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to safely operate lathes, mills, surface grinders
  • Must be able to read and use blueprints
  • Must demonstrate (as determined by testing) mechanical aptitude and be proficient in math
  • Must be able to use precision measuring equipment
  • Must be able to lift and carry mold components up to 50 lbs. – from floor level to above waist one to two times per work shift
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for the full shift, as required by the position
  • Must have high energy level and be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to hear warning signals and verbal alerts to avoid injury during manufacturing process
  • Must have good vision in order to perform visual inspection duties
  • Must be able to work effectively, communicate with others and be willing to work as a member of a team
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work independently
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a forklift license
  • Must possess basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite and email programs such as Microsoft Outlook; CAD experience a plus
  • Must be willing to assume additional responsibilities as delegated
