Job summary

Switchcraft is seeking a Mold Maker to work with journeymen to build and repair injection molds in a Chicago area facility. The candidate should be skilled with tool room equipment such as saws, drill presses, vertical mills, lathes, and surface grinders.

First shift runs Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with a pay rate of $35/hour. The role involves constructing parts from sketches or blueprints, operating precision tools, collaborating with designers and engineers, and developing

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tool room equipment (saws, drill press, vertical mill, lathe, surface grinder).
• Ability to build and repair injection molds.
• Ability to read sketches, verbal instructions or blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Constructs piece parts or assemblies from sketches, verbal or blueprints.
• Operates hand and machine tools with precision to models and parts.
• Works with designers or planning engineers to implement design intent.
• Adapts design intent into practical procedures.
• Build die section and proto molds as required.
• Document all tools.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Switchcraft® is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast and pro audio.

We are currently seeking a Mold Maker who will work with various journeymen building and repairing injection molds. This person must have knowledge of tool room equipment: saws, drill press, vertical mill, lathe, surface grinder.

First Shift - M-F - 6a-2:30p

$35/Hour

Responsibilities & Duties

• Constructs piece parts or entire assemblies from sketches, verbal or blueprints
• Operates various hand and/or machine shop tools with high degree of precision to models and parts
• Works closely with designers or planning engineers, understands the design approach
• Adapts or develops designs intent into practical procedures
• Build die section and proto molds as required
• Document all tools
• All other duties as requested by supervisor
