Job summary

GERFLOR-USA-INC in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking an Injection Mold Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance on injection molds, ensuring peak performance and longevity.

You will disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds, read blueprints, and maintain CMMS records. Collaborate with process techs and production, while adhering to safety and ISO standards. Shift options include 2nd and 3rd with diffs.

Qualifications

• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED; technical mold tooling cert preferred.
• 2+ years of mold maintenance experience in injection molding is desired.
• Proficiency with hand tools, measuring devices and shop equipment.

Responsibilities

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Injection Mold Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance on injection molds, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Available Shifts:

2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm with a $1.00 Shift Differential

3rd Shift 10:00PM- 6:30AM with a $2.50 Shift Differential

Your Day to Day:

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on injection molds according to established schedules.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds using precision tools and equipment.
• Identify and repair worn or damaged mold components.
• Assist with mold changeovers and insert changes as required by the production schedule.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using CMMS or similar systems.
• Collaborate with process technicians, toolmakers, and production staff to troubleshoot mold-related issues.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety, quality, and ISO standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to mold performance and reliability.

What We Would Love About You:

• High school diploma or GED required, technical training or certification in mold maintenance or tooling preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in mold maintenance or a related field within an injection molding environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mold components and functions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Proficient with hand tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Knowledge of 5S, PDCA, SMED, Kaizen and other key principles of continuous improvement
