Job summary

Bass Cat & Yar-Craft Boats is seeking a Mold Technician to perform PM/Overhaul activities, follow schedules, repair and modify molds, and diagnose mold problems in our Arkansas facility. The shift runs 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, first shift.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, knowledge of mold maintenance, and be able to work overtime. The role involves working with fiberglass and chemicals in a safety-sensitive environment with PPE and overhead cranes.

• Knowledge of good mold maintenance practices and procedures (preventive maintenance, repair, overhauls).

Responsibilities

• Supports production by building or repairing molds.
• Follow standard work process to ensure best practice following schedule and quality requirements.
• Operate manual tool room equipment. Sets up equipment by studying mold components, materials, tolerances, and machine capabilities
• Perform other duties, assignments and responsibilities as needed.

• This is a first shift position, and the hours are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
• All positions are safety sensitive. A safety sensitive position is any position designated in writing by an employer, in which a person performing the position while under the influence of marijuana may constitute a threat to health or safety.

Qualified candidates will be asked to submit to drug testing and pass a PFT test.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in fiberglass (dust/handling fiberglass items/etc.)
• Must be able to handle chemicals (catalyst/resin/foam)
• Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, squat, kneel to work on molds
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• This is a safety sensitive position.

Working Conditions

• May work with all tools/equipment available at mold shop.
• Daily use of overhead cranes.
• Daily exposure to mold cleaning solutions, grease.
• Daily work in mold shop as well as in a grinding booth.
• Work environment may include but not be limited to painting and assembly departments.
• Required use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, etc.)
• Use of equipment found in mold shop including but not limited to surface grinders, welding equipment, band saw, etc.
