Job summary

Qualifications

  • Skill in wax molding operations as demonstrated by 3–6 months of competent performance or equivalent training/experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications on technique cards and process controls.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Ability to work alone with limited supervision.
  • Written language skills required.
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions.
  • On-the-job training provided.
  • Hazardous waste management training may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Tooling preparation: accurately prepare tooling dies for operation.
  • Assembles, disassembles, and positions tooling dies; changes die inserts as required.
  • Adds chills and soluble per tech cards.
  • Removes and/or cleans tooling after operation.
  • Mold machine operation: operate moderately complex molding machines; maintain dimensional integrity of product.
  • Set up, monitor, and control mold machine functions.
  • Removes wax parts from die, inspects for defects, and trims.
  • Cleans wax parts as required.
  • Completes logs and records; documents modifications to process.
  • Meets production and quality standards; adheres to safety rules.
  • May train less skilled operators.
  • Performs other tasks as directed; may handle hazardous waste.

Essential Functions
  • Tooling Preparation: to accurately prepare tooling dies for operation.
  • Assembles disassembles, prepares and positions tooling dies for operation; changes die inserts as required.
  • Adds chills and soluble per tech cards.
  • Removes and/or cleans tooling after operation.
  • Mold Machine Operation: To operate moderately complex molding machines accurately and efficiently using technique cards and established setup procedures. To maintain dimensional integrity of product
  • Sets up, monitors, and controls mold machine functions.
  • Removes wax parts from die, inspects for defects, and trims.
  • Cleans wax parts as required.
  • Completes logs and records; documents any modifications to process.
  • Meets all production and quality standards.
  • Safety Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Adheres to plant and department safety rules.
  • Safely operates all equipment and tools.
  • Identifies and reports safety problems.
  • OTHER (MARGINAL) ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • May train less skilled operators as assigned.

Performs other tasks as directed.

Qualifications
  • Skill in wax molding operations, as demonstrated by three to six months of competent performance in any wax molding utility, leach tank or core/gate cleaner positions is preferred OR any equivalent combination of training and work experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications on Technique Cards, Process Control
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Ability to work alone with limited supervision.
  • Written language skills required.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
  • Training is provided on the job.
  • May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management Training.
