Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a Histotechnician III to perform advanced histology laboratory procedures including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation to support accurate pathology diagnoses.

The role requires Mohs training, 5 years of histotechnician experience, and an Associate's degree. The candidate will ensure compliance with SOPs and assist with quality control and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Specialized histology laboratory procedures including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation.
• Provides technical expertise and troubleshooting guidance.
• Ensures compliance with SOPs and assists with record maintenance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Performs tissue processing, paraffin embedding, and microtomy for slide preparation.
• Provides technical guidance to Histology staff on procedures and troubleshooting.
• Operates and maintains histology equipment and performs routine calibration/maintenance.
