Job summary

PhyNet Dermatology LLC in Massachusetts seeks a Mohs Medical Assistant/Surgical Technician to support Mohs surgery. You will perform pre-surgical assessments, prep the operative area, assist the surgeon, and manage patient flow while ensuring accurate EMR and paper records.

Pay range is $24–$25 per hour, with Monday–Thursday, 10 hours daily. Requires at least 2 years as a medical assistant or surgical technician, dermatology experience preferred, and proficiency with EMR software and sterile

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical assistant or surgical technician; dermatology experience preferred.
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Expertise in the use of surgical instruments and maintaining sterile environments.

Responsibilities

Conduct initial pre-surgical assessments and review health survey data to develop care plans tailored to patient needs.
Provide detailed pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and families.
Prepare the surgical area by organizing instruments, equipment, and anesthesia.
Assist the surgeon during Mohs procedures, including scrubbing in and maintaining a sterile field.
Ensure the surgical environment remains clean and compliant with protocols.
Administer anesthesia under physician supervision and ensure proper dosages.
Document all aspects of patient care in the EMR and maintain records.
Maintain follow-up records and postoperative instructions.
Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including the autoclave.
