Job summary

PhyNet Dermatology LLC in Norwell, MA seeks a Mohs Medical Assistant/Surgical Technician to support Mohs surgeries, perform pre-operative evaluations, educate patients, and maintain accurate records. You will assist the surgeon, prepare the operative area, manage instruments, and ensure sterile technique while maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least two years of medical assisting or surgical tech experience;

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical assistant or surgical technician.
• Dermatology experience is highly preferred.
• Proficient with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop care plans.
• Provide pre- and post-operative education to patients and families.
• Prepare surgical area and arrange instruments and anesthesia.
• Assist during Mohs procedures, including scrubbing in and handing instruments.
• Maintain sterile environment and adherence to safety protocols.
• Accurately document patient care in EMR and records.
• Support patient mobility and recovery safety.
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment and autoclave.
