Fairfield Dermatology is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our Mohs surgery team in Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have experience in dermatology or surgical settings, understand sterile techniques, and possess excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery, assisting during procedures, and providing patient education. Benefits include employee discounts, 401(k), and health insurance. The role requires 37.5 hours per week, with Saturday availability on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in dermatology or a surgical setting required; Mohs experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical assisting.
• Experience with EMR systems required; EMA/ModMed experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients for Mohs surgery, obtaining medical history and surgical consents.
• Set up and maintain sterile fields for Mohs procedures.
• Assist the Mohs surgeon during procedures, providing intraoperative support.
