Epiphany Dermatology in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Mohs Technician to join our growing dermatology lab team. You will support specimen processing, embedding, cutting and staining to produce high-quality slides for Mohs surgery.

We value empathy, patient care, and compliance with CLIA, CAP, and HIPAA. One year of Mohs technician experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of Mohs Technician experience highly desired.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain efficient patient flow while supporting patient safety and satisfaction.
• Map and process specimens, freezing and sectioning per CLIA regulations.
• Stain, process, embed, and prepare tissue sections as required.
• Organize, file, log, and locate slides/blocks; dispose of outdated slides per CAP/CLIA.
• Interact with doctors, patients and team members.
• Operate lab equipment and report malfunctions; arrange repairs as needed.
• Dispose of biohazard materials according to infection control guidelines.
• Perform general lab maintenance including reagents, cleaning, and fixative handling.
• Manage laboratory supplies and stock using par levels; monitor expirations.
• Participate in staff meetings and practice-improvement discussions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Formação académica

Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

60 semester credit hours in Chemistry/Biology etc.

6 semester credit hours of Chemistry

6 semester credit hours of Biology

12 semester credit hours in chemistry/biology/medical laboratory
