Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Mohs tech to perform tissue preparation, cutting, staining, and mounting for Mohs surgery. You will ensure high-quality slides for same-day diagnosis by the Mohs surgeon and assist with cryostat operations and documentation.

Requirements include an Associate degree (or higher) with 2–4 years’ experience, English communication skills, and EMR familiarity; HT/HTL ASCP certification is preferred. This role is on-site within a clinical laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred; 2–4 years of experience required.
• HT or HTL (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.
• Experience with EMR is preferred.
• Experience with biopsy gross descriptions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens by processing, embedding, sectioning and staining for Mohs examination.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes and cryostats.
• Document and label specimens and slides accurately and completely.
• Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
