The technician prepares, embeds, and matches tissue; operates a cryostat for frozen sections; stains, labels, and mounts slides; and ensures quality control per CLIA/OSHA guidelines, under tight time constraints.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Histologic Technology is required.
• No experience required.
• Certified Histology Technician (ASCP BOC) certification is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Procedures: Specimen Handling & Processing and Slide Preparation & Staining (85%).
• Equipment Maintenance & Lab Safety (10%).
• Quality Control and Administration (5%).
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
