Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a Histology Technician to receive, process, and prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination by the Pathologist. The role includes logging, batching, cutting, mounting, and staining procedures to produce quality pathology slides.

Responsibilities include providing surgical support to MOHS surgeons, preparing patient charts and instruments for surgery, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations while maintaining a clean, stocked lab

Summary

The Histology Technician will perform the various tasks required for receiving, processing, and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the Pathologist. This may include logging, batching, and cutting, mounting, and staining procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform Histological technical procedures using manual and automated techniques to achieve quality pathology slides for review by pathologist
• Providing skilled surgical and medical support to MOHS surgeon with patients’ care and safety.
• Prepare patients’ charts, forms and instruments and equipment needed for surgery
• Prepare histological samples, map, and flatten, frozen section samples, staining
• Comply with OSHA, CLIA and HIPPA regulations
• Perform routine housekeeping duties, keep room and lab stocked with supplies
• Organize, file and dispose of all specimens within regulation.
• Participate in external and internal proficiency testing

• Prior experience in medical office
• Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians
