Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
  • 3+ years in a laboratory setting, preferably in a management role.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across global teams.
  • Advanced Excel for lab data management, PivotTables and automated reporting.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the module testing lab (MTL) schedule for testing and communicate status and timelines.
  • Create experiment schedules with end times based on priority and chamber availability.
  • Maintain daily work and climate chamber availability for test sequences.
  • Ensure tests conform to IEC standards and troubleshoot issues.
  • Coordinate hiring and management of lab technicians.
  • Maintain experiment reports, data entry accuracy, version control and archiving.
  • Apply experience in material evaluation and qualification testing.
  • Conduct failure analysis and drive process improvements.

This role will focus on management of testing schedules, ensuring quality control of all IEC standardized testing, as well as training and hiring of technicians.

Title: Module Test Lab Engineer Location: White, GA, USA Job Family / Function: Engineering Employment Type: Regular Reporting Line: Team Leader Summary: The Module Test Lab Engineer will oversee the Module Testing Lab (MTL) and coordinate all laboratory workflows to ensure smooth operation for testing. This role will focus on management of testing schedules, ensuring quality control of all IEC standardized testing, as well as training and hiring of technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the module testing lab (MTL) schedule for testing, including informing all relevant parties of the status of their individual experiments and general timelines for completion.
  • Create schedules for experiments giving any individual module assigned end times for each test within the sequence based on priority, climate chamber availability, and time remaining on the experiment.
  • Maintain a full schedule of daily work and climate chamber availability for all test sequences.
  • Ensure all tests are performed accurately to IEC standards, and troubleshoot any process issue that occur during testing.
  • Coordinate the hire and management of all technicians within the lab.
  • Manage and maintain experiment report Excel files, ensuring accurate data entry, version control, and organized archiving of all test results.
  • Experience in material evaluation and qualification testing
  • Failure analysis and process improvement
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science/engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience, preferably in a management capacity
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across global teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for laboratory data management, including pivot tables, data validation, and automated reporting.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Driven team player focused on achieving goals
Preferred Skills And Competencies
  • Knowledge of solar cell/module manufacturing processes and materials
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience working within IEC standards and with certification bodies.
  • Experience with Minitab or equivalent statistical software for data analysis.
  • Manufacturing standard certifications (LEAN, Six Sigma, etc…)
