Job summary

GTI Fabrication in the United States seeks a senior Structural Engineer to drive design, analysis, and validation of modular steel structures for containerized applications. You will translate concepts into production-ready designs and work closely with fabrication teams to ensure safety and code compliance.

The role requires hands-on involvement, experience with large welded assemblies, and travel up to 25%. You will contribute to ISO9001 initiatives and optimization of manufacturing workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering; master's preferred.
• 5+ years in structural design for steel structures, welded assemblies, or modular systems.
• Proficiency with FEA tools (RISA, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro) and CAD platforms (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with Revit or BIM tools; strong knowledge of welding, corrosion protection and load paths.
• Knowledge of IBC, AISC and AWS D1.1 building codes; excellent communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design modular steel structures, platforms, frames, and load-bearing systems for containerized/enclosure projects.
• Perform static/dynamic analyses, fatigue, seismic and wind loading using FEA and hand methods.
• Collaborate with fabrication, quality, and project teams to optimize manufacturability and cost.
• Develop drawings and BOMs; provide QA/QC support and field installation assistance.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards; participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
