Your Job
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Modular Planner/Analyst to serve as a key member of the Walmart Category Advisory Team. This role will deliver timely category reporting, actionable analytics, and disciplined modular execution to strengthen Walmart's category decisions and support category growth. Working under the guidance of the Strategic Category Advisor, the analyst will independently own recurring reports and foundational advisory operations, ensuring decision-ready deliverables are accurate and completed on time. The analyst will draw upon Walmart, syndicated, shopper, and internal data to assess performance, identify opportunities, and develop fact-based insights and recommendations. The role will also manage modular execution from planogram development through final delivery, following Walmart-defined processes, quality standards, milestones, and deadlines.
What You Will Do
- Translate merchant strategy, approved assortments, demand-based clusters, footage requirements, and space-allocation direction into practical shelf solutions.
- Execute modular relays, line reviews, assortment changes, new-item placements, and category resets accurately and within established timelines.
- Apply modular design principles to support shoppability, logical category flow, item visibility, capacity, days of supply, and operational execution.
- Create, revise, validate, and maintain Walmart modulars using JDA / Blue Yonder or equivalent space-planning software.
- Use Walmart Scintilla data, Circana or NielsenIQ, and internal information to evaluate item productivity, space productivity, assortment performance, and modular opportunities.
- Deliver accurate recurring category reporting on time and translate performance across sales, market share, and shopper behavior metrics in the physical and digital shelf spaces.
- Partner with the Strategic Category Advisor to support category strategy, modular design, and customer-facing discussions through timely reporting, analysis, execution, and fact-based recommendation materials.
- Maintain organized modular files, assumptions, version control, decision records, and documentation that support repeatable execution and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with approved third-party drawing resources during peak modular windows and review outsourced work for accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Support post-modular measurement and identify execution learnings, process improvements, and opportunities to improve future shelf solutions.
- Build efficient Excel-based tools and, where applicable, reporting to improve modular tracking, quality control, and decision support.
- Manage multiple priorities and short-turn requests while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and clear communication with stakeholders.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- One to three years of experience in space planning, modular planning, category management, retail analytics, merchandising, or a related consumer products discipline.
- Hands-on experience creating planograms with JDA / Blue Yonder or another space-planning platform.
- Experience using Walmart Scintilla and Circana or NielsenIQ to support modular, assortment, or category analysis.
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, reconcile, analyze, and quality-check large data sets.
- Working knowledge of assortment, clustering, space allocation, capacity, days of supply, category flow, and modular design principles.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Direct experience executing Walmart modulars or supporting a Walmart Category Advisor or Category Leadership team.
- Experience with Walmart modular workflows, line-review cycles, store or cluster variations, and Walmart ways of working.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, pivot tables, complex formulas, data validation, and repeatable quality-control tools.
- Experience developing dashboards or automated reporting.
- Experience applying AI-enabled analytics or business-intelligence tools to improve reporting, insight generation, scenario analysis, or decision support.
- Experience with household essentials, consumables, or a high-velocity consumer packaged goods category.
