Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to design data center architecture and equipment for modular deployments. You will interpret RFPs, study customer requirements with the sales team, and craft robust CAD models and 3D designs that meet codes and standards.

Coordinate with HVAC, electrical, and controls teams, dimension structural parts, and prepare proposals and design documents for end customers, ensuring effective solution delivery and ongoing support to sales

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of design experience.
• Proficient in structural and mechanical design including end user interface applications.
• Strong CAD capabilities for site, structural and system layouts and prefabricated data center infra.
• Solution-based thinking incorporating Mechanical and Electrical components into deployments.
• Excellent written and oral communication across Engineering and Manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents
• Reading and understanding customer requirements provided by SA and sales team
• Concept design of data center architecture and equipment
• Understanding of relevant architectural and structural codes and standards
• CAD Modeling
• Understanding passive fire protection design and requirements
• Coordination with other technical disciplines (HVAC, electrical, controls, fire protection)
• Dimensioning and specification of structural and architectural parts of the modular building
• Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers
• Communication with customers in order to propose the best solution
• Making technical proposals for Vertiv modular solutions data centers
• Providing design documents
• Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions
• Support SA and sales team
• Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Structural and Mechanical components to an end-customer deployment
